Meet The Doctor

Let me be the first to welcome you to Love Family Dental!  I appreciate the time you’ve taken to visit this site and find out more about me, our dental practice, our team, and the many services we can provide to help you achieve optimum oral health.  Knowledge, skill and compassion go hand in hand when providing exceptional patient care. As a doctor, I recognize that my patients are unique individuals who have placed a great deal of trust in me and my team. That is just one reason why I value each and every patient relationship.

As a dental professional, I stay up to date on the latest advancements in dentistry in order to provide the most current treatment options for my patients.  Innovation is generally a good thing.  As we all know however, not every innovation is a positive step forward.  For that reason, I tend to make use of tried and true practices, procedures, and techniques.  Those innovations that meet my criteria for quality are put into practice.  My goal and desire is to provide quality and longevity for my patients who require treatment.  An area of special interest for me is that of making each patient love their smile, knowing that the first impression they make will be a positive one.

I love what I do.  I will say that I sometimes find that statement hard to believe based on my experiences with dentistry as a child.  I enjoyed building detailed model airplanes as a kid and became more comfortable interacting with people as I matured.  Combined with my childhood dread of being a dental patient, I feel these attributes of attention to detail and enjoying people give me a favorable position to take care of my patients in a careful and caring manner.  I both appreciate and respect the concerns some of my patients have as patients themselves because I have walked in their shoes.  It is my intention to continue my practice of dentistry in this manner for years to come, God willing.

Meet Dr. Gregory Love:  Dr. Love was raised in Cincinnati.  His Dad worked for the Kroger Company and his Mom was a homemaker and treasurer of the church the family attended.  Dr. Love is very proud of both his parents and particularly of his Dad's service in WW II as a navigator on a B-17. Following graduation from Baylor University, Dr. Love attended Baylor College of Dentistry and entered the  U. S. Air Force following graduation.  While in the Air Force, Dr. Love completed a one-year dental general practice residency, learning and working closely with dental specialists in all disciplines of dentistry.  Following his residency Dr. Love became a staff general dentist stationed at Tinker AFB in Oklahoma City and at Wright-Patterson AFB here in Dayton.  He left active duty after 10 years with the Air Force and went into full time private practice in Dayton.  Dr. Love remained a U. S. Air Force Reservist for 12 additional years during which time he served and trained for more than 150 weekends, was called back to active duty for four months during Operation Desert Storm in 1991, and commanded a medical deployment to Honduras in 1996.  For the last four years of his service with the AIr Force Dr. Love also served as Commander of his medical unit within the 445 Airlift Wing based at Wright-Patterson AFB.  He retired from the military in 2002 with the rank of Colonel.

Dr. Love has fully embraced being a member of the Dayton community and his place as a dental professional in that community.  He is a member of the American and Ohio Dental Associations and the Dayton Dental Society where he has served on the board of directors. Dr. Love has been a member of three dental study clubs and is a member of the American Academy of Facial Esthetics. He learned a team approach to dentistry while in the military and has carried that forward into his private practice.  Dr. Love greatly enjoys his interactions with other members of the dental community as a student and teacher and a mentor and one being mentored.   Dr. Love has over 30 years experience in dentistry and particularly enjoys interacting and caring for his highly-valued patients.  He and his wife Julie enjoy traveling, hiking, church activities, and spending good times with Julie's eight grandkids and family.
